CLIENT PORTAL FOR FREELANCERS · UPDATED OCTOBER 2026

Client Management Portal for Freelancers, Get Paid Without Chasing

Clientish is a white-label client portal for freelancers that puts proposals, deposits, invoices, reminders and monthly plans in one place, from $29 a month, without needing a team. As a freelancer you are the designer, the account manager and the debt collector. Clientish puts proposals, deposits, invoices and reminders in one place under your own name, so clients pay before you start, reminders do the chasing and more of your month goes to paid work.

Sound Familiar?

Four things freelancers hear from clients on almost every project, and how your client portal answers each one before it costs you money.

“I’ll pay you when the project’s done.”

Send a deposit invoice with the proposal. The client pays before you start a single hour.

“Sorry, missed your last three emails.”

Reminders go out on their own before, on and after the due date, and stop when they pay.

“Can you just add a blog while you’re at it?”

Your package says what is included, and extras are add-ons with a price.

“I have six tabs open just to onboard a client.”

Proposal, deposit, brief and project live in one order, not six tools.

ONE PLACE

One Order Instead of Six Tools

Proposals in a doc, signatures in another app, invoices in a third and payments in a fourth means digging through tabs to find what was agreed. In Clientish the client signs your proposal, the deposit invoice and the order are created, and the brief, payments and work all stay on that one order.

DEPOSIT FIRST

Get Paid Before You Start

A third of freelancers have finished work and never been paid. Set a deposit on your proposals, and the client pays it from their portal by card, PayPal, bank transfer or their balance before you begin. Your invoices carry your name and logo, not Clientish.

REMINDERS

Let Reminders Do the Chasing

Freelancers lose a working day or more each month chasing late invoices. Turn on invoice reminders once: clients get an email with a link to pay before the due date, on the day and 3, 7 and 14 days after, and the reminders stop the moment they pay.

A reminder before the due date
Another on the morning it is due
Follow-ups 3, 7 and 14 days after
A link to pay in every reminder
Stops as soon as the client pays
No awkward “just checking in” emails

FIXED SCOPE

Sell Packages, Not Open-Ended Hours

Scope creep is the most common complaint freelancers share. Sell fixed packages from your service catalog with Starter, Standard and Pro options, the revisions included and what is not included, and price every extra page, revision or rush job as an add-on.

STEADY INCOME

Turn Busy Months Into Steady Income

Feast-or-famine months end when part of your income repeats. Offer care plans or monthly updates as recurring services: clients are billed every month by card, get receipts automatically, and you see every plan and the next payment in one list.

YOUR BRAND

Look Like a Studio, Even as One Person

Clients judge a freelancer by how organised the first week feels. Give them a white-label client portal with your name, logo and colours on your own domain, where they sign, pay, send the brief and follow the project.

Freelancer FAQ

Straight answers on deposits, late invoices, scope creep, client accounts, payments and working without a team.

What is a client portal for freelancers?

One link you send every client instead of a pile of emails. Behind it they sign your proposal, pay the deposit, fill in the brief, follow the project and pay later invoices. Clientish gives a solo freelancer that portal plus reminders and monthly billing, from $29 a month.

Do my clients need to create an account?

They get a login to your portal, made when you add them or when they pay through your order form or payment link, so there is nothing for them to set up. The invoice emails you send them also carry a pay link.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. 14 days with every feature and no credit card. Set up your packages and send a real proposal before you pick a plan, which starts at $29 a month.

How do I get a deposit before starting work?

Set a deposit percentage on your proposal. When the client accepts and signs, an invoice is created with the deposit as the amount due, and they pay it from their portal.

How do I stop chasing late invoices?

Turn on invoice reminders. Your clients get an email with a link to pay before the due date, on the day and after it, and the reminders stop as soon as they pay.

How do I stop scope creep as a freelancer?

Sell your work as fixed packages that list the revisions included and what is not included, and price every extra as an add-on the client pays for.

Can I bill clients every month?

Yes. Set up your care plan as a recurring service. Clients are billed every month and get receipts automatically.

Can clients pay by card or PayPal?

Yes. Your clients pay invoices from your portal by card, PayPal, bank transfer or their account balance, using your own payment gateway.

Do I need a team to use Clientish?

No. Clientish works for one person. You can run proposals, invoices, reminders, monthly plans and the client portal on your own, and add team members later if you grow.

Will clients see the Clientish name?

Mostly not. The portal, invoices and emails carry your name, logo and colours on your own domain. A small Powered by Clientish line stays on Starter and Growth, and Pro and Enterprise let you switch it off.

Can I keep everything for a client in one place?

Yes. The proposal, deposit, brief, messages, files and invoices for a project all stay on that client’s order.
