Step-by-step guides for every module, from your first workspace to proposals, billing, support and automation.
Add and Edit a Client
Add a client by hand, send the welcome email, and keep their details up to date.
Add a client yourself when they come to you by email, phone or in person, and keep their details up to date.
Overview
This guide goes through the Add Client form and the Edit client page.
Who Can Access
Team members need Create Clients to add and Edit Clients to edit.
Add a Client
Open the form
Go to Clients and click Add Client.
Enter their details
Fill in First Name, Last Name and Email, and a Password of at least 8 characters. The refresh button makes a strong password for you. Phone is optional.

The email can’t already belong to another account. If it belongs to a lead in your workspace, open that lead and use Convert to Client instead.
Add the company and address
Company Name, Tax ID and the address are optional.
Set the status and team
Client Status starts on your workspace default. Pick Contact, Lead, Client or Client Team to change it. Under Assign Team Members, choose the people who look after this client.

The client can sign in as soon as you save, whatever Approved shows. To stop a client signing in, untick Account active on the Edit page.
Send the welcome email
Leave Send welcome email ticked to email the client their portal address and a link to choose their own password. The password you typed isn’t in the email.

Save
Click Save Client. The client’s profile opens.
Edit a Client
Open the Edit page
Open the client and click Edit, or choose Edit Client in the row menu on the Clients page.
Change their details
Update the name, phone, company and address. If you change the email, the client gets a confirmation link, and the new address is used only after they open it.
Help with the password
Only the client can set their password. Click Send password reset to email them a link.

Status, team and balance
Change the Client Status and the Assign Team Members. The Account Balance is read-only, because clients add balance from their portal.

Portal access
Untick Account active to stop the client signing in without deleting anything. They are signed out straight away. Tick Send welcome mail to send the welcome email again; their current password doesn’t change.

Click Save Changes.
