Each Billing Date

  • Every morning, subscriptions whose next payment date has arrived are renewed.
  • The subscription’s invoice is opened again as Unpaid for the new cycle, with today as the issue and due date. It keeps the same invoice number.
  • Today’s tax rule and any new amount you set are applied.
  • The client gets the New invoice email and pays through the payment link or their portal.
  • The next payment date moves on by one cycle.

Keep an Eye On

  • Past Due means the next payment date has passed. Check these subscriptions for unpaid invoices.
  • Each cycle reuses the same invoice, so an unpaid cycle isn’t kept as a separate invoice. Follow up with the client before the next billing date.
  • When all agreed cycles are paid, the subscription becomes Completed.

Why does Recurring billing say to connect Stripe or PayPal?⌄
