Processing Fee

Add a processing fee when clients pay online, so card fees don’t come out of your pocket.

Team members need Edit Payment Settings.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Turn it on

   In Settings → Payment Settings, turn on Add processing fee to online payments.

   

2. Set the fee

   Enter a Percentage (%) and a Flat fee. The defaults are 2.9% and 0.30.

3. Name it

   Choose the Fee label on invoice: Processing fee, Service charge or Convenience fee.

4. Pick the gateways

   Tick the gateways that add the fee, then click Save changes.

How It Is Worked Out

• The percentage is taken from the amount before tax and after any discount, then the flat fee is added.
• Bank transfer and paying from balance never add a fee.
• The fee is shown to clients as its own line before they pay.
