3 min read

Start and stop the timer, add time by hand, and submit your hours to your agency as a timesheet.

When your agency turns on time tracking for you, you can log the hours you work, with a timer or by hand, and send them to your agency as a timesheet.

Overview

This guide shows how to start and stop the timer, add time you forgot, check your totals, and submit a timesheet for approval.

Who Can Access

Remote Member

Remote members whose agency has turned on time tracking for them. What you can do depends on the permissions your agency gave you.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Open Time Tracking

In your menu, click Time Tracking. If you don’t see it, ask your agency to turn it on for you.

  2. Start the timer

Type what you are working on and choose the client. Pick Internal work (no client) for work that isn’t for a client. Tick Billable if the client should be billed for this time, then click Start.

  3. Stop when you are done

The timer shows when it started and how long it has run. Click Stop and the time is saved.

  4. Add time by hand

Forgot the timer? Click Add time manually. Choose the date and the From and To times. The length is worked out for you. Say what you worked on and pick the client. Click Save time.

Typed-in time is marked Manual, so your agency can tell it from timer time.

Add time dialog with the date, From and To times, what you worked on, the client and Billable
  5. Check your totals

The cards show your hours today, this week, billable this week and this month. Below them, your entries are listed day by day. Use the arrows to move between weeks.

  6. Submit a timesheet

Open the Timesheets tab. Choose the dates, check the hours by client and the amount, add a note if you like, and click Submit for approval.

Hours in a submitted timesheet can no longer be edited, unless your agency sends it back.

After You Submit

Your timesheets lists every timesheet with its status, such as Waiting approval, Approved or Sent back. If your agency sends one back, the hours unlock on the Time tab. Fix them there, then submit the same days again.

Tips & Best Practices

i

Use the timer when you can. Manual entries are fine, but your agency sees which hours were typed in by hand.

Common Issues

!

A client is missing from the list: only the clients your agency picked for you appear. Ask them to add it. You can log the time as internal work until then.
